Many people have consciously, and perhaps unconsciously, contributed to the wealth of this site.
I have been collecting digital images found at various locations, many sent to me collegially, and received out of the blue, many garnered from the ether. When I started to collect these images, it was for my own use and reference. I never intended originally to make them available to others. However, over the years, I realised what an invaluable resource they were. While I am aware that I did not take the originals of all these images and that technically the copyright to them belongs to many unknown individuals, I am acting in good faith in not claiming copyright, in cleaning up and safeguarding the images and not making profit from their use.
I am stating the source of images I can recall the source of. Some donors have asked for anonimity, some may be credited by initials only. Where a full name is given, I can only assume that the sender holds copyright. If anyone wishes to take issue with the use of any particular image, I am willing to review your proof of copyright and if it is demonstrated that you hold copyright, I will gladly credit you, or remove the image at your request.
Please be respectful of the copyright which exists on all these images and on the historical texts however. This site is intended as a useful reference, for interest and for personal study purposes.

For the general format of the site I wish to thank Bob Schwartz for sharing resources and granting permission to emulate his site format. Its elegance and simplicity has allowed me to concentrate on content, not coding.
For co-ordinating the site coding and exhibiting great patience, thanks to my son Alex Langley, as well as his many friends around the world, chatting back and forth interactively on-line, sorting out the challenges.
For images, I must thank so many people. I have no hope of remembering all the names of the generous and willing donors of so many of the images. They were never recorded and the list would be pages long. To all of you around the world who remember donating images over the years, my heartfelt thanks. Your reward is knowing that I, and all those who refer to this site and learn from it, will be eternally grateful. You have contributed to a great purpose.
A few individuals have contributed more than others in various ways as of the inception of the site. Bill Windrum, access to your huge collection and knowledge set me on fire. Roy Thompson, your patience and graphics and the special items you shared with me are much appreciated. Warren Carroll and Russ Huff, great conversations.
A few friends I have shared metaphorical pints with along the way include Chuck Brietigam (USA), John Macdonald (Australia), Mikael Gidhagen (Sweden), ......these rascals keep me going. There are many more of you....you know who you are. I must say that the shared journey is mostly a joy. The friendships that have grown and held are all joy!
