This reproduction of the very scarce AMF wing is for illustrative purposes. This wing design was a result of M.O. 423/1915. This version was issued to pilots qualified for both the AFC and the AFC Reserve. In 1916, a new issue was made under M.O. 85/1916, creating a wing for AFC pilots only. The design was identical except that the crown was removed.

Typical WW1 AFC pilot wing, as authorised under M.O. 68/1918. The likeness to the standard woven RFC wing, replacing RFC with AFC, is obvious. This wing replacd the AMF wing

Unusual format with dropped wings, highly simplified lettering and an unusual rendition of the crown, backed with pale canvas.

This wing is highly unusual. It is exceptional condition and has been made with extreme care, by hand. The level of workmanship and detail is astounding. It is not an official pattern, and not a masquerading reproduction. One must assume that this wing was commissioned as a Dress item for a senior officer.
