Royal Australian Navy Aircrew

The Australian Fleet Air Arm was established in 1947 and until 1968 its badges were identical to those worn by the British and Canadian Fleet Air Arms. The Royal Australian Navy has, since 1968, worn its own distinctive gold metallic crew wing. This badge is worn by all ancilliary naval aircrew which may include loading personnel, winch masters, technicians etc

This is an example of the 1968 metal wing which bears little detail in the feather and has a very dimpled surface to the crest. Compare this to #2.
